KINETIC   PATTERNS
Innovative 3d Printed jewellery in Motion

I came to Australia in 2008 and fell in love with its Art and Architecture. It made me understood the contemporary aspect of a design. During my study at Box Hill Institute of Tafe, I always tried to create one thing which can do or be many things.  In my quest to go beyond certain norms of jewellery, I aspire to add a fourth dimension “Movement” in my work."

About my work:
Each piece has some kind of kinetic element to it. There are 3-5 copies of one motif which I call layers. So a work is made in number of layers/copies of one design. These layers are joined through tubes which is called riveting. This creates rotation of each layer. So you can move each layer 360 degreed and create your own patterns.

Riveting is an important technique in my work. The layers of metals joined at one point through tubes creates rotation of each.
If I want tight rotation, I rivet tightly and if I want loose rotation I create a loose rivet.
All rivets are handmade, I use fine silver 2.3mm or sterling silver 1.8mm tubes for rivet.

The motifs are mainly inspired from Indian traditional art of Mehndi/ Henna which I design in RHINO and get it 3d printed in Nylon, gold plated metal, alumide etc. I am also a huge admirer of Art Deco, so you will also see some bold geometric designs as well.

My main research is into studying Movement in form and forms of Movement - creating designs with a controlled movement or leaving a design to move freely.  Please take a look at my collection of designs- Polar Array, Steps, Revolve, Geometry shapes, Petals and Metals, Hollow forms...... which exemplifies my research.
THE BASIC CONCEPT IS TO WEAR ONE DESIGN IN VARYING STYLES AND EMOTE FUN WITH FASHION.
